The Sun is Coming!

Well, no, but, seriously, we're due for some sun-love today.

According to Wikipedia, a coronal mass ejection, or CME for short, is a massive burst of solar wind, other light isotope plasma, and magnetic fields rising above the solar corona or being released into space. Don't hesitate to check it out -- there are a few pictures too!

The collision event is due to happen at approximately 14:18 GMT. So that's approximately 16:18 SAST for us here in lovely South Africa. Slight concern is raised due to the fact that those of us here in South Africa are situated in a weak spot in the Earth's magnetic field. More details on today's CME can be found in this article.

Stay out of the sun, stay safe, and I'll see you on the other side! ;-)
