The World and The Universe

So most would say that we've survived the so-called "Mayan Apocalypse". Not that they actually intended any apocalypse -- that's what the Western world seemed to infer!

Like the Mayans today, I chose to spend my day completing various tasks that needed to be done and also celebrating the arrival of the 14th Baktun, the day when the entire world is supposed to "ascend" into a higher spiritual dimension after being bathed in the divine energy flowing out from Sagittarius A* (pronounced: Sagittarius A-star), the supermassive black hole in the centre of our galaxy.

Now I'm not entirely sure that this poor little supermassive black hole is really concerned with us, nor even our spiritual lives for that matter, but what can we say? Today was a LONG, HOT and SUNNY day. And it was LOVELY. My previous tarot prediction came true!

So, in the Mayan spirit of celebrating the transition into the new age, I've decided to go all tarot (once again) and display four of the same cards from my different decks.

I've decided to choose the Golden Dawn Magical Tarot, Light and Shadow Tarot, Albano-Waite Tarot and the Thoth Tarot decks. Why? I think that these images are pretty! Some may moan and complain that the two Golden Dawn-styled decks call the 21st Major Arcanum The Universe and that most other decks will refer to this as The World. Actually, it doesn't matter what this arcanum is called. There are supposed to be slight differences in intention (speaking under correction, of course), but the interested reader can look these up if they so please.

21: The Universe, 21: The World, XXI: The World, XXI: The Universe. Decks: Golden Dawn Magical Tarot, Light and Shadow Tarot, Albano-Waite Tarot and the Thoth Tarot.
Whatever we shall choose to call it by, this arcanum is said to usually augur the end of a cycle or journey, but also the beginning of a new one. It is a time in which we should reflect on the experiences that are past, but also be prepared to make a fresh start. The idea of giving back is also an important one here: you must give back some of the knowledge that you've gained on your journey, in order to better benefit others. An apt way of saying it would be that we live not only by, through and for ourselves, but by, through and for others as well.

As the year-end draws to a close, take some time to reflect on your experiences over this year past, the good and the bad, and then be sure prepare yourself for the new year that's looming on ahead. Remember also to try and give back where you can -- even though no good deed goes unpunished, you'll still get some return (big or small; karma's choice) on anything (good or bad) that you give back. Of course, giving back for the betterment of others is always recommended! ;-)

And now, I shall begin preparing my final set of posts for this year. Do keep an eye out!

Love and Light,
AERJÆ
